Guide and Virtual Tour of The Lake District: Windermere from Fell Foot Park.
Panorama | Review | Map
Fell Foot is a large National Trust park on the south eastern shore of Windermere. It is easily accessible, being only a short drive from the A590, and is a hugely popular spot for picnics, boating and generally lazing by the lake with children and friends.
There are tea rooms in the old boathouse and large car parks, though these are not cheap. National Trust membership gets you in for free! You can hire rowing boats from here, paddle, or swim. It is permissible to launch your own boat from the slipway, but there is a charge for this.
The views across the lake are fantastic and there is a large adventure playground for the children. A lovely place to take it easy on a warm summer day.
