photograph of Loughrigg Fell, TerraceThe area around Loughrigg offers spectacular views of Grasmere and the surrounding fells. This shot shows the bridge across the river which connects the lakes of Rydal Water and Grasmere to each other.

The walkers, who you can see crossing the bridge, are leaving the fell of Loughrigg and returning to White Moss, where there is a large carpark and picnic area on the other side of the woods. The lake that you can see here is Grasmere, the town of the same name, famous for Wordsworth and gingerbread, lies just to the north of this small lake.

The views from Loughrigg are fantastic on a clear day, but it can quickly become misty, so always walk with a map and suitable clothing. The weather changes quickly in the Lake District.
